Trying to get to Fly Geyser in Nevada

I am seriously contemplating if I should make my way to Fly geyser in the Black Rock Desert Nevada. It will be a long way out of my way (about 8 hours drive from Death Valley) but I once saw a Fatali photo and it just blew me away and ever since then, I have always wanted to photograph it. It is a man-made geyser and it was created by mistake. They were apparently drilling for something and hit a pocket of hot springs and it has been continuously spewing water ever since. Apparently it is on a private property and I have to got to ask permission from this guy called Bob who owns the ranch its on. Where is Bob though and what if I cant find him..... All that driving for nothing and I dont want to trespass and get shot. Looks like this photo has received a healthy dose of photoshop as I dont think it is quite as dramatic as this but who knows. You will have to wait and see my photos ....... if i even go there....

California Trip continued...

Well it looks like i will be going to California on my own. My mommy wont be able to come but thats sort of ok as now i will be able to go to all those weird places at weird times to do my shooting. I am just worried about bears in the morning in Yosemite. May be a bit scary. I could whack them with my tripod....

California Trip

So it appears that I will taking a short trip to California with my mom. I am really excited about this as we travel very well together. Very well means that I drag her to all these off the normal track places just so I can take some great photos. I really dont think she knows what she is getting herself into but I would like to think that she likes the journey.

I think we will be landing in San Francisco and then driving to Yosemite National Park. I have found this great company there that has professional National Geographic Photographers who you can hire to take you out for 5 hours to all the really cool places to shoot. I am so excited about that. A lot of trekking and shooting to do. Then it's on to Death Valley to see the Devils Golf Course and what is really exciting for me - the Racetrack. Pictures will follow.

After that I am a little confused as I am not too sure which way to go. Do I head north to Nevada and see Fly Geyser and Lake Tahoe on the way back or do I head further east into Utah possibly to see Antelope Canyon again? We shall see but I will do a day to day log anyway....keep watching this space.
